Who CarePossible Is
CarePossible is a nonprofit founded in 2013 by Randy Moraitis, based in Orange County, California. Its mission is stated plainly on its own site: provide free mental health and addiction care to veterans and low income families.
The model is a scholarship model. CarePossible recruits behavioral health treatment scholarships from partner providers, then distributes those scholarships to veterans and families who apply. The care is delivered by licensed providers. The cost is covered by the nonprofit and its donors.

What CarePossible Covers
- Military family support
Care for the trauma exposure carried by service members and the families around them, with a direct focus on suicide prevention.
- Mental health services
Therapy and counseling for conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder.
- Addiction treatment
Scholarships toward drug and alcohol treatment with licensed providers.
- Education and awareness
Community education aimed at reducing stigma and preventing overdose and suicide.

Scholarships are applied at partner treatment organizations. The Runway is one of the providers in the Orange County network.
You do not need to be a Runway client to apply. CarePossible serves veterans and families regardless of where they end up receiving care. Apply first. Sort out the provider second.
Our Partnership
The Runway Recovery works alongside CarePossible because our founder's own recovery began in a bed he could not pay for. CarePossible named Runway CEO Vechi Mutum its 2024 Veteran Champion of the Year at the 12th Annual Salute to the Military.
That relationship is practical, not ceremonial. When a veteran calls The Runway and cost is the obstacle, CarePossible is where we point them. When a veteran needs a licensed detox or residential bed in Orange County, we make one available.
Salute to the Military
CarePossible's annual fundraising event, Salute to the Military, raises the scholarship funds that pay for veteran care through the year. The 13th Annual event is scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2026.
