Tricare Coverage for Residential Care Tricare is the health care program for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. It includes mental health coverage for adults, with residential treatment available for substance use disorders when medically necessary.

  • Require 24/7 structured support

  • Receive a clinical recommendation for residential care

  • Complete pre-authorization through Tricare or a referring provider
